JUAN FRANCISCO “PANCHO” OCHOA, AN OUTSTANDING MEXICAN.
The enthusiastic entrepreneur, Juan Francisco "Pancho" Ochoa Zazueta, is the founder of El Pollo Loco, Taco Palenque and Palenque Grill. He opened his first restaurant El Pollo Loco, on January 6, 1975 in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Don Pancho, as he is affectionately known, was born in Bacayopa, and spent his childhood in the village of El Fuerte, these municipalities are located in the state of Sinaloa, where at an early age he learned to how to work, following the example of his father, who always instilled in him the importance of succeeding in life, and on the other hand, following his mother's example of helping the most unprotected people.
Thanks to the talent and perseverance of Juan Francisco "Pancho" Ochoa, he accomplished to inaugurate his first Pollo Loco in Los Angeles, California to subsequently expand the market with the opening of more restaurants, in various regions and even other countries, always with the traditional recipe that managed to conquer the taste of diners.
Don Pancho has been a true example of inspiration, overcoming, motivation and pride for the Migrant Community, as well as for society based on both sides of the border.
Through a long and brilliant business career, the charming Mexican, promotes many sources of employment by being a great benefactor of thousands of families in Mexico and the United States.
With great dedication, care, wisdom, the tireless philanthropist has managed to position his famous brand, making it the favorite of the population, also thanks to his enormous heart and simplicity that characterizes him, has triumphed in the important and competitive gastronomy industry, guided by his vision and detailed eye.
Supported by his wife Flérida and his enterprising sons, he leads the operability of his corporation that continues to develop, currently having more than 60 El Pollo Loco branches in the Mexico, in addition to its creation Palenque Grill and Taco Palenque with prominent presence in the state of Texas for several years, where its exquisite food attracts music celebrities, sport, film, art, culture, theatre, television, science, as well as prominent politicians.
Our admiration and respect for the Ochoa Family, that shows concern for the most vulnerable people, and who thanks to their effort and work contribute with noble causes that benefit the community at large.
Don Pancho Ochoa has received prestigious distinctions, including a plaque on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars - Las Vegas Walk of Stars, the Hispanic Honor Medal, The Juan Francisco "Pancho" Ochoa Official Day Proclamation in Las Vegas, International Medal of Migrant Merit in the Mexican Senate, Entrepreneur of the Year award in Laredo, Awards at the Senate and Texas Congress, Honorary Doctorate from Charisma University, along with the Executive Award of the Year by The Race Award, both received on the premises of the iconic Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, among other honors.
